The Graduate Diploma in Marketing allows you to add a specialisation in marketing with elective options in strategic management, operations, international business and more to further your career.

You will use your existing graduate skills or extensive experience to start your business study at the equivalent level to the final year of a business degree.

Aims of the programme

The Graduate Diploma in Marketing give students who already have a degree, or extensive business experience, an opportunity to pursue study in a specific business discipline at an advanced undergraduate level.

Graduates of the Graduate Diploma in Marketing programme will have the personal attributes, specialist knowledge and professional skills necessary to make an immediate and valuable contribution in demanding and evolving business environments.

Graduates of this programme will be able to:

Graduates who wish to continue with management based study will be prepared to enter a postgraduate (level 8) or masters (level 9) programme at NMIT or elsewhere.

Entry criteria

A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.

Alternative requirements

Applicants who are unable to evidence that they meet Academic Entry Requirements, but who can demonstrate acquired skills for tertiary study gained through study, work and/or life experience, may be approved for alternative entry by the Curriculum Manager (or delegate).

English language requirements:

All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at this level. Those students whose first language is not English must have:

  • IELTS test: Academic score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5. TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18); PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42; Cambridge English Qualifications: B2 First, or B2 First for schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill. OET: Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests. NZCEL - Level 4 (Academic). Language Cert - C1 Expert International ESOL Written (LRW) PASS with no less than 25/50 in each skill and Spoken (S) PASS.
