In the Foundation Studies Certificate, you will focus on one main area of study – this is your stream. Within each stream you will take ten papers, including two compulsory English papers.

On campus or online

For over 20 years, this programme has been transforming the lives of domestic and international students, both on campus in Dunedin – and from 2020 – online from their homes outside of New Zealand.

Whether online or on campus, Foundation Studies Certificate students enjoy the same high-quality teaching and learning experience, where all students are supported to develop the academic skills and confidence to succeed in their future studies.

The Arts stream may lead you to study towards the following university degrees:

  • Bachelor of Arts
  • Bachelor of Laws
  • Bachelor of Theology
  • Bachelor of Teaching
  • Bachelor of Social Work
  • Bachelor of Performing Arts

There are limited places available in the second year of the Bachelor of Laws. Entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Laws is competitive and is based on the grades achieved in the Bachelor of Laws (First Year).

This programme is conditional upon you fulfilling the various academic, English and other requirements specific to the programme.

The Bridging programme is available which is a 6 week course designed to increase your chances of success in the Pathway programme. It is run three times a year (February, June or October).
