Study the AUT Master of Health Practice in Violence and Trauma Studies and explore different approaches to reduce violence in our communities and assist with healing from trauma.

The Master of Health Practice in Maori Health is designed for health professionals with at least three years of clinical experience. You can select courses that reflect your career needs and interests. The Maori Health specialisation works closely with Taupua Waiora, the Centre for Maori Health Research, which focuses on improving Maori health and reducing inequalities of outcome between non-Maori and Maori.

Entry criteria

Must have completed the following or equivalent:

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree
  • Relevant graduate diploma
  • Relevant professional qualification

AND

  • At least three years of relevant professional experience

Other requirements

  • May be required to complete prerequisite papers in chosen subject area
  • May be asked to provide evidence of current professional practice
  • May be required to meet Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA Act) and Vulnerable Children’s Act (VCA Act) requirements and other relevant legislation

English Language Requirements:

IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with all bands 6.0 or higher; or equivalent; TOEFL iBT score of 90; Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS) with A grade; GIE with B+ grade; CAE minimum overall score of 176; PTE minimum overall score of 58.
