Study options
Upon successful completion of the first two years of advanced Food Technology at HCMUT, students my progress directly to the University of Otago Bachelor of Science (majoring in Food Science). Students will be eligible to graduate with a Bachelor of Science (Food Science major only) following two years of successful full-time study with Otago (2 years + 2 years).

Food scientists blend biology, chemistry, consumer research and nutrition to solve the problems of developing a safe, healthy, sustainable, and nutritious food supply for people everywhere.

New Zealand Qualification
Our Food Science graduates have exciting career and research prospects in New Zealand and overseas, with many graduates finding employment before completing their final year at university. Employment possibilities include product development, food quality management, chemical/nutritional analysis, sensory analysis, marketing, and research. Employers may be national or international food companies, research institutes, government agencies, and more. A BSc in Food Science is an exciting and portable degree.

Entry criteria

Applicants must successfully complete the required first two years of Advanced Food Technology at HCMUT with a minimum B grade average or 75% (or equivalent).
