EPPS (10 weeks) is for students: who hold a conditional offer for postgraduate study at the University of Auckland or other New Zealand tertiary institutions, and, who have narrowly missed the English language requirements. Students who successfully complete this programme with the required grade, will meet the English language requirements for university study. This short intensive programme focuses on developing the language proficiency and academic literacy needed for postgraduate studies through English. Also, students in this programme can have full access to the University of Auckland Library and learning services. Online Course: The ELA is committed to the continuation of your English language learning during this challenging Covid-19 period. To support your study goals, the ELA is pleased to offer English Pathway for Postgraduate Studies (EPPS) online. as well as face to face for those students who are based in New Zealand. Online EPPS classes are a mix of offline activities such as discussion forum posting, and live interactive Zoom sessions on course work topics between students and tutors. Zoom sessions can sometimes be one-to-one or small group tutorials in addition to whole-class activities. Your classes are from 1 pm to 5.15 pm NZT for all levels. IELTS score requirements: 6.5 with no bands less than 6.0 (Overall: 6.0; Writing: 6.0; Other band: 5.5); 7.0 with no band less than 6.5 (Overall: 6.5; Writing: 6.5; Other band: 6.0); PTE Academic score requirements: 6.5 with no bands less than 6.0 (Overall: 50; Writing: 50; Other band: 42); 7.0 with no band less than 6.5 (Overall: 58; Writing: 58; Other band: 50); TOEFL iBT score requirements: 6.5 with no bands less than 6.0 (Overall: 80; Writing: 21; Other band: 16); 7.0 with no band less than 6.5 (Overall: 90; Writing: 24; Other band: 18); Course length: 10 weeks (an accelerated 7-week EPPS is available in November, and the EPPS for Business Masters runs in June); Total hours: 200 hours.
