Proven Foundation & Progress: Strong emphasis on core numeracy and literacy. We implement progressive, research-backed tools like Structured Literacy in the junior school and Writer’s Toolbox  in upper primary to maximise writing mastery.

The Famous New Zealand Camp Experience: Every two years our Year 5 and 6 students participate in a three day camp experience offsite. A true highlight of Kiwi schooling, our Year 5 and 6 students build lifelong friendships, resilience, and teamwork through outdoor school camps at immersive locations like Camp Adair and Carey Park camp.C

Water Safety Programmes: In the upper years, students participate in a variety of EOTC activities that encompass water safety and the beach environment. In 2026, Year 4 students went snorkeling at Goat Island, in 2025 Year 5/6 students travelled by ferry to Tiritiri Matangi Island in the Hauraki Gulf. In previous years students have visited local beaches and participated in sailing programmes as part of the renowned NZ Waterwise safety programme, learning valuable water survival and safety skills through hands-on sailing.

Environmental Stewardship: Students engage directly with nature through visits to the Arataki Education Centre, learning firsthand how to protect our precious environment.

Kaitiakitanga (Guardianship): As an Enviro School, our students become active protectors of nature. They learn to plant, grow and maintain a sustainable, waste-free environment amidst native birdlife and majestic Kauri trees.

Inspirational Setting: Nestled on the edge of the Waitākere Ranges, or Te Wao Nui o Tiriwa,  the school blends the peace of lush, ancient rainforests with easy access to West Auckland's iconic wild coast beaches such as Piha and Karekare - two world famous beaches.

Safe & Connected Community: From our many community caregiver and whānau events (school picnics, colour runs, Quiz Nights etc) to our active student leadership profiles, safety and a deep sense of Whanaungatanga (belonging) are woven into everything we do.
