Summary

Christchurch Girls' High School / Te kura o hine waiora has been educating young women since 1877. As the second oldest female only high school in New Zealand we have over 140 years of being a leader in girls' education with a longstanding tradition of academic, cultural and sporting excellence.

Our School is located in Christchurch, the biggest city and the gateway to the picturesque South Island of New Zealand. Our campus is centrally located with a short walk to the heart of the city,  students are close to everything the city has to offer from beaches to shopping malls and a major international airport.  Our school is known for its park like grounds and has a mix of buildings and facilities including a modern performing arts centre and gymnasium. 

International students are accepted from a wide range of countries and can choose from many options of  study. We offer  long term academic programme ,short term experiental and group programmes as well as specialist sporting programmes. Long terms students are supported to study the New Zealand curriculum and undertake the New Zealand National high school qualifications including University entrace. International students that graduate go on to study at both New Zealand and overseas univerisities including the in the following countries; Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, United states, Japan, Thailand and Korea.
