Columba College has a long-established tradition of academic excellence, all-round achievement and has hosted international students for over 30 years. International students can gain NCEA, SAT, TOFL and IELTS qualifications and are offered a well-rounded curriculum designed to help prepare them for tertiary education and future careers. Our partnership with the University of Otago means international graduates from Columba gain automatic entry and access to university scholarships. International students participate and excel in a wide range of sporting, service and cultural activities, which help to instill a sense of teamwork and positive interaction with others. The pastoral care, ESOL and homestay support are of the highest standard to meet personal, individualised needs.

With the beautiful landscapes and exciting activities of Central Otago (Queenstown) at our doorstep, international students enjoy activities such as ski camps and trips to see the penguins and sea lions. Whilst Columba maintains many traditional values, it is also progressive and embraces new technologies and pedagogies to remain at the forefront of education in New Zealand. The College facilities are a combination of historical and modern, with very well resourced classrooms. Staff are highly qualified and committed to each student’s achievement and wellbeing.
