International Students
Fiordland College has a long tradition of hosting international students and we value the cultural diversity they bring to our school.
The school year is from the end of January until the beginning of December, although exact commencement dates are flexible. Both short term and long term programmes are offered.
Our experienced Director of International Students ensures the social, academic and personal wellbeing of our overseas students. Small class sizes and a close teacher/student relationship ensure student welfare is well catered for.
Fiordland College students study towards NCEA (National Certificate of Educational Achievement), NZ's national qualification. It is an internationally recognised qualification that enables our students to continue studying at tertiary institutions after leaving school. We also offer tuition for IELTs and TOEFL in ESOL classes, which is included in our tuition fee.
Our international students live with carefully selected New Zealand host families. Living with a host family provides students with a comfortable and friendly family environment. This helps them adjust to life in New Zealand while enhancing their English language conversational skills within a relaxed atmosphere.
Ours is a safe and vibrant community on the shores of Lake Te Anau. Locals are renowned for their friendliness and hospitality. Te Anau's status as a tourist destination means that it has wonderful facilities while maintaining its intimate atmosphere.
We offer a free excursion to Milford Sound, to the value of $300. To enrol at Fiordland College, check out our website - www.fiordlandcollege.school.nz.
