Summary
Mt Hobson Middle School (MHMS), run by the Villa Education Trust (VET), is based on a middle school age group with an integrated, project-based curriculum. Although privately run, the school reflects the 8 Essential Learning Areas as stated in the NZ curriculum - overlaid by a clear Christian philosophy & Christian values.
The VET design, as encompassed in MHMS, is created to suit students learning in the 21st Century and is an ideal means of teaching & learning in the information age. It is structured to be a window of opportunity for fantastic learning experiences and caters for all intelligence traits & learning styles.
MHMS students go on to enrol at a wide variety of public and private schools, and successfully integrate into all aspects of their further schooling lives.

MHMS is well-equipped with educational facilities, including a science room, an art room, ample teaching spaces, technological features (desktops, laptops, data projectors, printers, cameras), a kitchen and areas set aside for quiet, individual and small group learning.
In the afternoons, the local area becomes the school. We often use parks and sports facilities nearby, as well as local businesses, libraries, the museum, art galleries, etc. Through proper use of these resources and the Internet, MHMS students get to learn in an environment without walls.
