Summary

We are a small boutique school and with only 170 students we are able to give students individual attention with an average class size of 14 students.

Ruapehu College provides an extensive Outdoor Education programme as well as a Snow Academy.

This boutique school truly captures the essence of New Zealand and is located in the town of Ohakune which is a destination for those interested in snow sports, tramping, biking and for those who just appreciate ‘the nature’.

The area is a tourist destination and with the availability of snow sports and growing mountain biking industry, there is a distinctly international feel about Ohakune during certain times of the year.

The school has a strong academic focus which facilitates students being offered choices about their future careers whether it to be to University or to one of the many job opportunities offered in the Ruapehu district. What sets us apart from the other schools is the opportunity to fully engage with this unique environment.

We excel in snow sports with our snow academy and our outdoor academy offering a wide range of amazing experiences. As well as an excellent education, the school provides a breath of fresh air!

This school offers unique opportunities to those who like to gain a good solid education foundation and have an adventure along the way.
