Tauhara College is a high achieving school with high student activity participation rates. Students participate in a wide range of learning, performance, cultural, and sporting activities. The school is located by Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand. Taupo is known as an adventure playground and one of the most popular places to visit for tourist activities. These include bungee jumping, jet boating, skydiving, kayaking, and white-water rafting. There are a lot of hiking and mountain biking tracks around Taupo. International students love the exciting city of Taupo, the beautiful landscape of this lake and mountain district, with its many tourist activities and the friendly, welcoming nature of Tauhara College and its community.

Tauhara College offers a wide variety of subjects. We are one of the highest achieving schools in the country. It excels in performing arts. Each year the school runs a musical production show. A lot of outdoor education activities such as tramping, bush camps, water skills camp are offered. The International Department runs activities such as abseiling and white water-rafting and gives international students many opportunities to visit tourist destinations. We have wonderful host families who treat you as a true member of the family.
