Kate Edgar Foundation – Women for Solomon Island Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for this scholarship must: * be a woman; * be 18 years of age or older; * be a Solomon Islands citizen; * be enrolled full-time or part-time at an accredited tertiary institute in the Auckland region of New Zealand; * have completed the equivalent of at least one full-time year of study at an accredited tertiary institute in any country, including the Solomon Islands. In awarding this scholarship, the selection committee will consider: 1. the applicant's personal statement (of no more than 500 words) explaining why she has chosen her area of study and her future goals; 2. the applicant's academic record; 3. the applicant's referee's report; 4. the applicant's apparent need for financial assistance; 5. any special circumstances considered relevant, e.g. family responsibilities, leadership potential.
