Certificate in Construction Trade Skills – Carpentry

Summary

This programme will equip you with a wide range of practical skills as well as an understanding of carpentry theory, calculations, quantities, drawing, communication skills and related studies. You'll also learn about tools, machines and timber, plus the construction of single and two storey residential buildings and light commercial buildings. In order to undertake this programme you must be physically able to work safely in an industry-related work environment. This programme is also offered for Youth Guarantee students. You can apply for these options if you're 16 to 24 years of age and no longer at school, or if you're planning on leaving school. Please note: You may be eligible for Youth Guarantee funding if the course you are applying for is at a higher level than any qualification you already hold. If the course is at the same or a lower level, you will not be eligible. We encourage you to apply early to secure your place.
