Summary

Our Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications degree specialising in journalism is a highly practical programme providing you with the skills and theory to break news stories and be actively involved with the production of news across digital and broadcast platforms.

It combines two years of immersive, on-campus learning with a third year spent working in the industry.

Early in your studies you'll gain a strong understanding of the role of journalism in society, breaking news stories and factual storytelling.

You’ll get the opportunity to broadcast on the school’s highly respected media platforms, including radio, television, online and social media.

In close collaboration with our media partners, our programme has been designed to produce graduates who will meet the needs of the industry. Our 24-week industry internship gives you more real-world experience, builds your industry contacts and gives you a real edge when it comes to securing your first job.

Our graduates are in demand - 90% of them secure employment in roles related to their field of study (Source: 2024 Ara Graduate Outcome Survey).
