Summary

Further to the Bachelor, the Honours is a year long, full-time programme. It is your chance to push your boundaries, refine your creative practice, and engage more acutely with the ideas that shape contemporary art.

You will continue your way along the path of thinking, doing, sharing by combining a deeper theoretical exploration alongside your practical studio work. The programme challenges you to create art pieces that are conceptually compelling and professionally executed.

Critical Contexts invites you to explore the frameworks -historical, cultural, political, and environmental - that influence and inspire the creative and fine arts today. Through reflective analysis you’ll connect these ideas to your own creative processes, sharpening your ability to frame often complex concepts with clarity and purpose. Seminars and workshops, discussions and one-on-one supervision, provide the support and encouragement, and a space for critical thinking and personal discovery.

Studio Research puts your creative vision into action. You’ll lead yourself in a self-directed inquiry, combining visual material and contextual research and produce a significant body of work for exhibition or publication. This course is about experimentation, innovation, and resolution. It offers the opportunity to push your practice further while connecting it to contemporary discourses - be it political, artistic, personal, social or environmental -with studio production, group critiques, and hands-on workshops at the heart of this experience.

Together, we prepare you to make your mark in the art world or take the next step in your academic journey with confidence and originality.
