Summary

Learning core skills and practical knowledge in a hands-on environment, students will develop electrical engineering theory, principles, and practices required to meet industry needs and demands. This can be across areas such as the power industry, industrial automation, and consumer products.

This engineering programme is accredited by Engineering New Zealand, a signatory of the Dublin Accord, meaning it is highly respected and recognised both nationally and internationally.

Entry criteria

General academic admission

  1. Candidates are required to have gained:
  1. NCEA Level 2*
  2. a minimum total of 48 NCEA credits at Level 2 in four subjects, including at least 12 credits in Mathematics (preferably from achievement standards in algebra, calculus or trigonometry); or
  3. equivalent qualifications (e.g. International Baccalaureate or Cambridge); or
  4. equivalent credits from trades training and/or demonstrated skills and experience, and

*a minimum of 10 literacy credits at Level 1 or higher (for those who achieved NCEA Level 2 before 2013).
