Summary

This programme is designed to equip you with the skills needed to be an effective strategic management professional, capable of working in a range of business environments. In your first year you’ll develop a depth of business knowledge and skills required for any commercial context. This includes skills in management, leadership, accounting, marketing, HR, law, economics and sustainability, as well as knowledge of Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Then across your second and third years you’ll dive into strategic management, where you’ll gain the skills needed to be an effective strategic management professional, capable of shaping strategic direction in a range of business environments and types of organisations. It covers intermediate and advanced strategic planning and management, leadership, change management, finance and marketing. Additionally, you’ll channel the knowledge and skills you acquire into a practical industry project for a local business or organisation, in which you’ll address business issues or advance business opportunities. In the process, you’ll strengthen your understanding of strategic management. Part-time up to 10 years.
