You may find yourself working on a wide range of foreign-going ships from cruise liners, ferries and container vessels, through to support vessels in the oil and gas industry. This qualification combined with sea time and Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) requirements leads to a MNZ certificate: Deck Watch Rating (DWR) certificate of proficiency Able Seafarer-Deck (AB Deck) certificate of proficiency.
