Lead the development of our landscapes and public spaces with this specialised and practical programme.
You'll combine skills from various disciplines and have the chance to focus in areas of interest. This is the only specialised landscape management undergraduate degree in New Zealand and Australia.
The industry is calling out for people with the skills to manage and plan landscape projects. This degree combines landscape architecture, design, planning, ecology, horticulture, sociology, culture and project management, making sure you have the knowledge and skills to tackle any problem.
Key featuresYou’ll graduate ready to begin a career in project management and development. This includes public spaces and parks management. There is also potential to go into other sectors, such as ecology, recreation and tourism, depending on which courses you take.
Practical work requirementsBefore graduating, a student shall complete a minimum of 6 weeks of Practical Work which should be undertaken as:
Students are required to submit two satisfactory Practical Work reports to the Practical Work Coordinator in the year they complete the work period.
An employer form verifying the work period also needs to be submitted with the report. The guidelines for the report and the employer forms are contained in the BLM Practical Work Handbook.
With approval from the Academic Board, up to 50% of the practical work requirement may be completed overseas.
The Academic Board may modify the application of these regulations in particular cases, provided a formal request to exercise discretion is submitted in writing to the Academic Board or delegated authority.
Students wishing to graduate in May in any year must submit confirmation of completed practical work required under these regulations by the preceding 20 February.
