Summary
This programme is designed with flexibility in mind, making it ideal for professionals who wish to continue working part-time while they train. The first two years are part-time, followed by a third year consisting of a full-time paid internship.
This is an excellent option for working professionals looking to build on an existing Masters or PhD in Psychology. Upon completion of the programme, you will be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board as a Clinical Psychologist.

Entry criteria
Entry into the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (PGDipClinPsych) is restricted to New Zealand and Australian citizens or permanent residents. You must have completed a Master of Arts or Master of Science from this University with a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or higher, and a specialisation in Psychology, or have equivalent prior study or completed the requirements for a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology. Applicants must submit a timely and complete application including names of confidential referees, and be available to attend in person the selection interview process at the location and time specified by the School if selected for interview. Applications are accepted in two entry categories: General Admission, and targeted admission for Māori and Pacific students. Selection is based on relevant work experience, prior academic performance, equity considerations and personal qualities suitable for the practice of clinical psychology. For targeted admission only, selection is also based on membership of and engagement with the targeted community. Criteria will be assessed using a combination of written application, referee reports, and performance in an interview process for shortlisted applicants.
