Career/further opportunities

On completing this programme, graduates will be able to work within the scope of practice defined by remedial massage and wellness and relaxation massage. Graduates will be able to communicate and refer with other massage therapists, allied health, wellness and medical professionals for those specialist services.

Graduates will be capable of working independently in an unsupervised and autonomous self-managing capacity, such as at a home-based or mobile massage therapy clinic; a community-based massage therapy clinic; a multi-disciplinary clinic; or in sports settings.

This programme can lead into a bachelor’s degree in massage therapy, or further study in the areas of aroma science, reflexology or beauty and spa therapy.

Entry criteria

Applicants are required to have completed
a) Level 5 Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage or
b) A Comparable Level 5 qualification in Massage and/or suitable industry experience.

English Language Requirements

Candidates who have English as a second language are required to have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 6.0, with no individual band score lower than 5.5; or

  • TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) score of 60 (with a writing score of 18)
  • TOEFL Paper-based Test (pBT) score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE)
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42
