Applied Horticultural Services (Level 3) (Landscape Construction)

Summary

In this programme, you will learn the introductory skills of the landscape construction trade, gain confidence using building tools, and learn how to build and make landscape elements. You will also learn about planting, laying lawns, and some maintenance.The programme is very practical and hands-on, seeing you work on real landscape projects in the community that provides you with experience in setting out, woodworking, laying concrete, and paving with drainage. You will also develop essential health and safety skills required by industry, as well as how to read and draw construction plans, measure, and survey. Classes are four days a week, Monday through Thursday, and two or three of these days will typically be spent working outside on landscape building. In addition to class time, you will also undertake self-directed study from home. All tools will be provided by Wintec, however, you will need to provide their own safety boots and wet weather gear.
