Summary

This programme will provide students with the knowledge and skills for a career in information technology. It is equivalent to the first year of the Bachelor of Applied Information Technology, so if students choose to progress to the degree they will only need to undertake another two years of study.

Students will develop an awareness of the IT environment and an appreciation of the needs of users. Students will develop the skills to work in roles such as computer technician, help desk and technical support officer, entry-level network administrator, network engineer, and applications support analyst, focusing on technical support. This programme incorporates the New Zealand Certificate in Information Technology.

Please note, students in this programme are encouraged to bring their own device (a laptop). Specifications can be found here.
